Caribbean Kite Racing Championship Wrap Up!

We are very proud to announce that our event was a total success! Thanks to Jose Garcia, and Arturo Gallardo which co-organized the event with me, the PR Windsurfing and Kitesurfing Association, and to all our sponsors! With two events in one, Puerto Rico celebrated its first international multidiscipline Windsurfing/Kitesurfing event, last weekend July 9th to 11th. Both events attracted sailors from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, France, and United States. The kitesurfing portion was an IKA sanctioned event, titled the Caribbean Kite Racing Championship, which awarded $10,000 USD in prize money and 410 IKA ranking points. This event is the first kite racing event of its class in the island of Puerto Rico. Read more…
The Kiteboarder Magazine: Interviews KitesurfPR's co-owner Karla, about the upcoming Caribbean Kite Racing Event.

The Kiteboarder Magazine's guest for this week is Karla Barerra of Kitesurf Puerto Rico. Inspired by her participation in the IKA World Kite Racing Championship in Corpus Christi back in April, together with a group of three windsurfers, Puerto Rico will host a windsurfing slalom series and the first IKA Caribbean Championship in Puerto Rico July 9 – 11.
